Treatment Details

Around ½ inch ribbon of the ointment should be placed on each affected eye, and then the patient must close their eyes for 2 to 3 minutes. The eye should not be rubbed. The patient should not use medication with contact lenses on, and the lenses should be put back in after 15 minutes have passed after application.
How long does Tobrex Ointment last?
The medication should be repeated as often and for as long as the doctor recommends. the bottle should only be kept until four weeks after it was opened. For mild to moderate symptoms, a half-inch ribbon of the ointment is recommended to be applied two or three times a day. For severe cases, the same amount should be applied every three to four hours until there is improvement, and then the treatment is reduced, then finally discontinued.
